By 2014, the number had leapt to ten million. Now, just four years later, the company boasts a whopping twenty-nine million users.
According to its website, Hostinger proudly operates under a “no-limits” policy, providing “complete freedom to express yourself online.” That’s an awful large reputation for one website hosting platform. Does Hostinger live up to it?
For our first category, we’ll start with the make-or-break factor – reliability.
Hostinger ranks well in terms of performance across the board, with high speed during low upkeep, near-perfect uptime, and strong anti-theft security.
Here is the Uptime history of December month: (99.96%)
The platform is easy-to-use, boasting fast activation and simple navigation.
Often, website owners fear that web hosting will be complicated. After some of the reviews I’ve written, I can’t blame them. But Hostinger has none of the bloat.
Hostinger offers four main web hosting services: Shared Web Hosting, VPS Hosting, Domain Registration, and SSL Certificates.
Shared Web Hosting is intended for users who aren’t interested in emptying their pockets for hosting solutions.
Hostinger offers a unique cloud infrastructure that makes it possible to offer web hosting for a low price without destroying performance.
VPS Hosting promises a virtual server at high speed. Hostinger has six VPS Hosting options starting at $4.95 a month and topping out at $75.95 a month.
SSL Certificates provide HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure) websites with added security for passwords, usernames, and credit card numbers. HTTPS is a secure version of standard HTTP.
We’re going to zero-in on Shared Web Hosting.
Hostinger boasts dozens of useful hosting features, including PHP Support, FTP Access, Curl and Curl SSL, Audio and Video Streaming, a 99 Percent Uptime Guarantee, a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee, and Weekly Backups on all plans.
|Free Domain Name||Yes|
|Free CloudFlare CDN||Yes|
|Site Transfer||Unlimited GB|
I’m particularly impressed by the 99 Percent Uptime Guarantee – a rare thing for affordable web hosts like Hostinger.
While there are other useful features Hostinger could offer, it does a solid job of providing an even playing field to all users, regardless of their chosen plan.
In my opinion, there’s nothing more frustrating than a web host with horrible customer support. If I can’t get my questions answered or my problems solved in a timely manner, I’m going to take my business somewhere else.
Fortunately, Hostinger has a competitive customer support system. Its website boasts ongoing live support – and it isn’t lying.
If you have a question, you’ll start by searching through a guiding tool with informative articles about your service. If you still can’t find the answers you need, you can open a chat window and speak with a customer service agent.
Some support panels can be frustrating, but I was able to find most of the answers I needed with little issue.
Plans & Pricing
Let’s face it. The most important factor when choosing a web host, after reliability, is price. Hostinger offers three main packages: Single, Premium, and Business.
Shared Hosting Plans
|Disk Space||10 GB||Unlimited||Unlimited|
|Number of Websites||1||Unlimited||Unlimited|
|cPanel||Powerful cPanel||Powerful cPanel||Powerful cPanel|
|More Details||More Details||More Details|
Single Web Hosting is advertised at $2.15 a month. This is what Hostinger calls a “cheap survival plan.” It includes one email account, one website, and one MySQL database – in addition to 100 GB of bandwidth and 10 GB of disk space.
Premium Web Hosting is currently $3.49 a month. This plan includes an unlimited number of websites and email accounts, in addition to limitless bandwidth and disk space. For such a drastic increase in features, the premium plan hardly breaks the bank.
Finally, for higher optimization speeds, live support, and increased processing power, you can upgrade to Business Web Hosting for $7.95 a month.
However, there’s a catch. (Isn’t there always?) In order to take advantage of the advertised price, you must purchase a forty-eight-month subscription, boosting your checkout price to $103.20 for Single Web Hosting, $167.52 for Premium Web Hosting, and $381.80 for Business Web Hosting.
This is a common practice for web hosting companies. The further you pay in advance, the more you save. For a minimum subscription period of three months, Single Web Hosting is $11.97, Premium Web Hosting is $26.52, and Business Web Hosting is $35.97.

Regardless of the catch, when compared to the competition, Hostinger is undeniably affordable.
Few platforms are as simple as Hostinger. The account management panels are visually appealing and responsive. Users aren’t bombarded by advertisements and upselling. Even more useful are the custom-made, step-by-step tutorials provided for website development.
Hostinger is clearly in the business of beating the competition. This became evident when, as I scrolled through payment methods, I noticed BitPay was listed.
That’s right. Hostinger accepts BitCoin in addition to PayPal and all major credit cards. Talk about being ahead of the times.
Hostinger Pros and Cons
- Guaranteed Uptime
- Highly Affordable
- Great Customer Service
- Required Service Length of 3 Months or More
- No Phone Support
After taking a closer look at the website and its features, I would highly recommend Hostinger for web hosting services.
The platform is easy-to-navigate, customer service is helpful and efficient, uptime is unbeatable, and the price is perhaps the most affordable in the industry.
There’s always room for improvement. The platform could use phone support for more complex questions. And we’d all like to see a web host with real month-to-month plans, rather than misleading quotes that make for a nasty surprise at the checkout counter.
Still, Hostinger is playing by the rules of the field – and it does a fine job.
