Those of you who are not familiar with the Hindi language will find it difficult to understand the meaning of the word ‘HostNamaste’.
‘Namaste’ means ‘I bow down to you’. It is a hosting company that has its moto ‘customers first’.
We guess that’s why they named it as HostNamaste.
So, we decided to review it and try to find out whether they stick to their words?
We, at Hostingpill, review the hosting plans of different companies and give our fair opinion regarding the same to help you in making better and informed decisions.
Well, we do have our own set of rules to review the plans and guide you in the best possible way.
Anxious to know what we found?
Let’s go!
What is ‘HostNamaste’?
‘HostNamaste’ is an India based web hosting company that started its operations in 2016.
It has 6 data centers spread across Europe, North America and Asia.
As far as shared hosting is concerned it has three plans viz, Linux shared hosting, Reseller shared hosting and CWP shared hosting.
For Windows, it has Windows shared hosting and Windows Reseller hosting.
It has a wide range of choices for VPS hosting as well, as you can see it from the below image.
It caters to dedicated hosting as well and has many hybrid plans to suit the user requirements as you can see it from the image below.
HostNamaste Review: Uptime
Uptime is one of the important criteria that you must consider while analyzing any hosting plan.
This is so because uptime signifies the time during which our site will be ‘up’ and visible to the public at large.
Downtime is the time when the site is not visible to people.
Uptime for HostNamaste ranges between 99.9% to 100%.
Using Hostingpill’s uptime calculator, we found out how much downtime is expected at 99.9% efficiency.
HostNamaste gives an SLA guarantee of 100%uptime.
Looking to HostNamaste’s uptime we feel it is pretty good.
HostNamaste Review: Pricing and features
For shared hosting Linux plans, HostNamaste has 4 different plans starting from $1.95 to $7.95 per month.
Some of the features listed below are common for all of the plans except for their configuration like:
- CloudLinuxOS
- LiteSpeed Web Server
- ImunifyAV – Scanner
- Recovery Backups
- Easy Scalability
- Web Statistics
- Plesk Application Vault
- 07 Days Money Back
- 99.99% Server Uptime
- 24/7/365 Support
- Unlimited domains
- Unlimited sub-domains
- SSD storage
- Bandwidth
- SSLs
- Database
- Email accounts
- Plesk panel
- Cloud flare
- Backups
The bandwidth and SSD storage that it offers is unmatched in the industry. It varies according to the plan opted but even the basic plan ‘Foundation’ has an SSD of 2GB with 100GB bandwidth.
Data and the safety of data are of crucial importance to anyone having a website. We found that as per the terms and conditions of HostNamaste they do not guarantee the availability of backups and it is left to the user to save it properly.
They store only one week of backup data. This is evident from the image below.
In the case of refund policy, we found that the user is eligible to claim a refund only if he has opted for a yearly plan, not otherwise.
Although they provide free migration service it is time-bound. That means you need to transfer it within 30 days after you sign up, else wise it is chargeable.
It uses Plesk panel as a management tool for the website and has got pretty cool features like:
- One-click installations
- Unlimited MySQL database
- Unlimited MariaDB Databases
- PHP, Perl, Ruby on Rails, Python, CGI, and FastCGI Supported
- PHP Version Selector (PHP 5.x to PHP 7.x)
- Common PHP Modules Supported
- Unlimited Email accounts with Spam protection
According to us, unlimited email accounts, SSD storage and great Bandwidth for every plan are the special features when we look at HostNamaste.
HostNamaste Review: Ease of use
We found the interface pretty easy to navigate and all required things could be found in the first place!
They do not offer a trial period but instead offer a ‘looking glass’ feature which enables the user to test the hosting service provider before subscribing for the plans.
All you need to do is just to enter your ‘IP’ address and press ‘Enter’. Within seconds you get the results.
We find this feature pretty useful and easy to use for the prospective customer to test the network of hosting providers.
HostNamaste Review: Customer Support
To expedite the customer support process, it has got email support and a ticket system.
The interface suggests the mails that need to be made to different departments to resolve various concerns like billing, technical support, sales support, and security.
They can be contacted directly via phone or through a live chat option promptly displayed on their website.
We had a brief conversation with them during the live chat and found it a bit slow but satisfactory.
The chat might be slow due to the unavailability of people owing to the Coronavirus.
HostNamaste Review: Security
Well, as far as the security of data is concerned, we found that they use Cloud Flare to ensure it.
Apart from that daily backups are taken and a week old backup can be accessed from them at any time.
The data centers are well guarded, have proper biometric device scanners installed at various places to prevent fraudulent entries and have proper cooling systems.
HostNamaste Review: Conclusion
On final thoughts, do we recommend HostNamaste?
Well, YES for a person who has got some technical knowledge in this field.
A beginner might find it a little difficult to deal with problems himself as the live chat is a bit slow.
The chat might be slow due to the unavailability of people owing to the COVID virus.
For solving the query, you need to raise the ticket every time depending on the issue you are facing. (in case it cannot be solved by the person handling live chat)
On the positive side, we find it offers unmatched SSD and Bandwidth with a ‘looking glass’ feature to test the networks before subscribing.
Also, the uptime offered by HostNamaste is great and we find transparency in all of their plans.
The terms and conditions are pretty clear and there is no beating about the bush stuff!
So, we definitely recommend you, go ahead with HostNamaste and do let us know in the comments section any special feature which we might have missed out!
