HostGoi Review: Uptime

Uptime refers to the time during which your web host remains up and running.

If you thought 99% and 99.99% mean the same thing, think again!

According to SLA Uptime Calculator, this would mean downtime of:

Daily: 8 seconds
Weekly: 1 minute
Monthly: 4 minutes and 19 seconds
Yearly: 52 minutes and 33 second

HostGoi Review: Pricing and features

Things on the pricing side are rather lenient with HostGoi. Probably, HostGoi is one of the most affordable hosting services in the market.

The basic plan comes at just $0.85 per month. Even the Business plan and Standard plan are quite affordable with just $2 and $3.85 per month respectively.

The best part is almost all features in all the plans are similar except the ‘availability part’. For instance, in the Basic plan, you get 5 GB SSD and 10 GB Bandwidth whereas the same is unlimited in the Business and Standard package.

HostGoi Review: Ease of use

Ease of use is one of the factors which although isn’t of prime importance but many things certainly depend on it.

It uses Cpanel for easy use along with ready-made website builder tools so that you don’t need complex coding languages.

Personally, we found their interface easy to use.

HostGoi Review: Customer support

Well, they don’t have videos on their website but they do have blogs for everything.

Yep! I mean EVERYTHING!

Just to check whether a chatbot was used for chatting or a real human, we tried to ask a different question.

We asked them regarding migration.

We were happy to get a reply soon from their side and it was a human. Chat was definitely slow but we could find an answer to what we intended.

As you can see from the above screenshot, they have seven different categories for guidance regarding hosting, WordPress, etc apart from that they have a special section on “how to start a blog” and a detailed ‘hosting guide.’

One thing we particularly noticed about them is that they have an email newsletter to update us. We think it’s a great feature to stay updated.

Although they mention that they have free SSL installation but on their website, they have mentioned charges for the same. We think this is a tricky part and clarity is required here.

Live chat was not satisfactory and there is room for improvement in our view.
SSL certificates are free with shared hosting plans but they have a validity of 90 days and do not come with a trust seal. To remove this drawback you can opt for a Premium SSL certificate such as Comodo offer Warranty, Organization/Admin Validation, Trust Seal. Validity varies according to the subscription term (1/2/3 yr).
JetBackup Daily website backup solution is included in cPanel for free of cost that automatically generates full website backup and stores all the backup in a cloud server. However, it keeps only 5 days old backups, so if the user wants to keep their old backups for a lifetime, then they have to opt for CodeGuard.
Video support would have been better in addition to blogs.
